| Professional Exchange : Exchange Conditions of IFMSA El Salvador(El Salvador) | |
| Level of studies | CLINICAL, students must have passed or be in the same department in his/her country |
| Type of Clerkship | Clinical clerkship.
Preclinical clerkship only in case of special request. |
| Languages | Spanish for ALL departments. |
| Duration of Clerkship | 1 unit = 4 weeks |
| Working Conditions | Usually 8 hours per day, Monday to Friday.
Night shifts in hospitals it depends on the department - doctor rules. Same conditions as Salvadorian Students. |

San Salvador: -Hospital Nacional San Rafael (UJMD) PERIODS: February-May: Internal Medicine and Gynecology August-November: Surgery and Pediatrics *Our outgoing students will be able to do their clerkship only between the second week of June and the second week of July. |

*The letter of motivation describing student's knowledge and special interest in the desired field, the expectations from the clerkship, and previous experience (in English). *Letter of Good Standing and Recommendation from your Medical School. *Language certificate. *Two passport photos. These documents must be sent 3 months before the desire period |

| Insurance | Students must have travel and health insurance for the period of the clerkship. The proof of insurance must be shown upon arrival, and must state what the insurance will cover (illness, accidents, home transport, up to which amount, etc.)

| Pocket Money | Pocket money is not given by IFMSA-EL Salvador. |
| Board & Lodging | Lodging is free of charge, arranged mainly in students’ houses were they will provide all meals.
For unilateral exchanges students will pay for their lodging, food and transportation. (We will provide all the necessary information) |
| Social Program | We will provide information about important-interesting places to go or visit and many other attractions, depending on the places. Restaurants, discotheques, bars, trips to the beach, lakes, mountains, volcanoes depending on the city and local committee; it is offered a welcome party, evening parties, tourist tours around the city and surroundings, |
| Substitutions | Substitutes must accept the same period and department. They have to bring an original CA and a Card of Substitution signed by NEO or LEO. |
| Cancellations | In case of cancellation we need to know at least 3 weeks in advance. We prefer substitutions to cancellations |
| Visas | It’s the student’s responsibility.
IFMSA-El Salvador may offer Invitation Letter. |
| Special remarks | No student will have board and lodging out of the dates specified in the CA.
Clerkships may be automatically cancelled when the Local Committee receives claims from the hospital. IFMSA-El Salvador accepts unilaterals for the price of 350 USD per month. Student should bring his/her own white coat, Stethoscope, Tensiometer, pocket lamp, thermometer, surgical glasses, complete operation room scrubs. Friends, relatives and pets are not welcome. |
