| Languages | English, Swedish
Decent speaking of any above stated languages is A MUST. Students who do not manage to communicate properly with their doctor will be secluded from the hospital clerkship. |
| Duration of Clerkship | 4 weeks |
| Working Conditions | Usually 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
We recomend you to bring your stetoscope and a pair of comfortable shoes. White coat and scrubs will be provided by the hospital. Confidentiality is regulated by law in Sweden and includes exchange students. For more information ask your LEO upon arrival. |
| Disciplines | All disciplines. We do not recommend Psychiatry due to language barriers.
PLEASE CHOOSE 4 DISCIPLINES. Students who choose less than 4, and the chosen specialties are full/not available for the moment, will be positioned in any other speciality that is available. Be aware that we sometimes can not provide any of the 4 chosen departments. |

No exceptions can be made. PLEASE CHOOSE 3 DIFFERENT CITIES. If there are less than 3 cities chosen in the application, we will take the liberty to position the applicant in any of the other cities, if the cities chosen by the applicant are already full. Please email the NEO before March Meeting if you have special reasons to be positioned in a specific city. |
| Application documents & deadline | Electronic application forms (eAFs) MUST BE SENT to us before MARCH MEETING.
We do not need any other papers sent to us! On the e-AF we need the letter of motivation attached. One week before arrival in Sweden, all students from outside of Scandinavia must be tested negative for MRSA. You will NOT be able to enter a Swedish hospital if you are colonized with MRSA. Please contact the LEO if you have any questions! All our AF's will be submitted 6 weeks prior to the clerkship. If you wish to know which city you have been positioned in earlier please email our NEO-in. Incomming CAs to Sweden must reach IFMSA Sweden’s NEO-Office no later than 6 weeks before clerkship. |

| Insurance | Health insurance is a must! It's mandatory in order to cover your medical treatment in case you need healthcare during your visit in Sweden. |
| Pocket Money | No pocket money. |
| Board & Lodging | Normally 1 meal at the hospital, 5 days a week. In Umea 2 meals/day.
We recommend that you bring at least 300 Euro to cover costs for food, transportation and unexpected expenses. |
| Social Program | Very popular, differs from city to city. Please contact the LC if you have questions.
Since 1953 Lund has a special program with two weeks of lectures, excursions and social activities followed by two weeks of clinical practice. |
| Substitutions | Student substitutes will receive the same period, city and department as the student he/she substitutes. Substitutions are not accepted less than 3 weeks before the clerkship begins. |
| Cancellations | Tell us ASAP... |
| Visas | We must be informed about this well in advance. Countries that need VISA to gain entry to Sweden can ask for preliminary CAs and ILs at the March Meeting. Please contact us if you need IL's and haven't recieved them at the MM! |
| Special remarks | All students coming from countries outside of Sweden must be tested for Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus (MRSA). The test has to be done in the students own country shortly before arrival to Sweden. The student is not allowed to participate in the clerkship if he/she has MRSA. Bring proof of a negative test result upon arrival. Contact the LEO if you need more information. |
