| Professional Exchange : Exchange Conditions of IFMSA-BH(Bahrain) | |
| Level of studies | Clinical, Pre-clinical also applies to some programs. |
| Type of Clerkship | Clinical and Pre-clinical. |
| Languages | Language of instruction is English, Arabic is also appreciated. |
| Duration of Clerkship | 4-8 weeks. |
| Working Conditions | 5-6 hours a day, 5 days a week (weekends are on Fridays and Saturdays) |
| Disciplines | • All clinical fields available except for cardiothoracic surgery and cardiology.
• For Pre-clinical students: programs available in Microbiology, Molecular Biology, and Medical Education. Programs will be allocated according to availability, 3 choices should be set. |
| Periods & Towns | Arabian Gulf University, Salmaniya: We dont offer electives June, July, August and September. |
| Application documents & deadline | • All E-AF should be received 3 months prior to commencement of desired program, these should be accompanied with (to be sent by email to us):
o the AF with 3 choices of desired programs (rank according to preference). o a scanned copy of the passport o Letter of motivation o Proof of registration in Medical School with indication of level of studies. o scanned photo in .jpg form. o A letter from the dean directed to The Arabian Gulf University Dean. This document needs to be sent with the AF in order to be able to proceed. |

| Social Program | Bahrain has long been known as the Island of Golden Smiles. There’s plenty to do here, it’s a place of multi-culture with a variety of activities to satisfy all tastes. The type of program varies according to time of clerkship, but is generally active and enjoyable. social activites are arranged once weekly according to the student request.

| Substitutions | At least 4 weeks before commencement provided the details are similar, both in choice and applicant attributes. |
| Cancellations | At least 2 weeks in advance, possibility of substitution would be appreciated. |

| Special remarks | • Unilateral contract fee is 150$
• Not all programs count towards your medical degree. Generally all clinical clerkships can be set against your mandatory elective for which you’ll be given credits. The university will issue certificates for other programs. • All programs will continue provided that the student abides by the rules and regulations set by the moderators. • Cultural differences might be observed in the working environment (especially clinical), these ought to be respected. • white coats will not be provided at the hospital. students need to bring their owns. |
