| Professional Exchange : Exchange Conditions of IFMSA-Japan(Japan) | |
| Level of studies | Clinical students only. The student must not have graduated. |
| Type of Clerkship | Clinical clerkship |
| Languages | English obligatory, and preferably, Japanese. The ward discussions are all in Japanese. |
| Duration of Clerkship | 4 weeks. CALENDAR MONTH ONLY |
| Working Conditions | 8 hours a day, Monday to Friday. Students will attend the daily clinical work guided by the supervising doctors. Exchange students are supposed to work under the same conditions as Japanese students and obey the rules at the hospital. The student should bring his/her lab coat and stethoscope. |
| Disciplines | Basically almost all clinical fields except psychiatry. We don't have Acupuncture, Alternative Medicine. |

| Application documents & deadline | 1.AF with 2 photos completely filled out.
-Put the numbers(1,2,3) on City, Period, and Department, according to the order of priority. 2.Motivation Letter -It should be typed in English and addressed to supervisors at the hospital. -Specify your interest in your clerkship. (What do you expect and what do you want to do during clerkship?) 3.English Certificate 4.Copy of Insurance 5.Letter of Recommendation from Dean 6.Rules Form They must be given to us by MM 2009. We can accept both hardcopy and scanned data. |

| Insurance | Health insurance OBLIGATORY. It should also cover the accidents inside and outside the hospital. The copy of the insurance written in English is required on application. |

Breakfast and supper are free in condition that the same service can be expected for the counterpart from Japan. Lodging: Free on bilateral agreement. |
| Social Program | Social programs will be arranged by each local committee. |
| Substitutions | Substitutes must be for the same sex, same period, same town, same department. In case of substitutes , informs us as soon as possible, at latest 6weeks before the beginning of the clerkship. We also require a written apology addressed to the hosting University from the cancellating student . |
| Cancellations | In case of cancellations, inform us as soon as possible. We also require a written apology addressed to the hosting University from the student . |
| Visas | Please look at the Website of Japanese Embassy.

| Special remarks | NO GIRLFRIEND,NO BOYFRIEND,NO FAMILY accompanying on clerkship!
For Europians,Bank card of Euro pass cannot use in Japan basically. Concerning the 'Periods & Towns', please refer to the original EC file in the NEO-folder. We can not guarantee placement together in the same city. The unilateral exchange fee is 50,000yen. The students for unilateral exchange have to pay the fee to their contact person when they arrive at the LC. If you are to be accepted in Nippon medical school,please submit the following by email by at least 3 months before. Letter of interest, including your full name, mailing address, and medical school/department attended A list of your clinical or laboratory experience, stating the nature of the work, and where and when it was carried out A detailed evaluation of your clinical or laboratory performance signed by a physician or faculty member who supervised you A health record listing current immunizations, together with proof that you hold personal health and accident insurance A reference from your Dean or Head of Department A certified record of the grades you have achieved at your medical school/department |
