| Professional Exchange : Exchange Conditions of IFMSA - Egypt(Egypt) | |
| Level of studies | Clinical and preclinical students are accepted |
| Type of Clerkship | Clinical and Pre-clinical. |
| Languages | The student must have good command of English (or Arabic) to be accepted for the clerkship, otherwise he/she will be rejected. |
| Duration of Clerkship | 4 weeks, only calendar months are accepted. |
| Working Conditions | 5 hours a day, 5 days a week, weekend Thursday and Friday .
The student must complete at least 3 weeks of the clerkship in order to get the certificate, in case he/she won't, the LEO has the right not to issue his/her certificate |
| Disciplines | * Ain Shams (Cairo): Pediatrics, tropical medicine, Internal medicine, Emergency and Surgery departments
* Alex : Internal medicine , Surgery. *Al-Azhar :All preclinical departments and clinical departments are available * Assuit : Pre-clinical : Anatomy, Physiology, Pathology, Pharmacology,Microbiology and Biochemistry. and All clinical departments. * Banha : Tropical medicine,paediatrics,General-surgery,internal medicine-gynacology-opthalmology. * Cairo Uni.(ElKasr): Internal medicine, Surgery, Pediatrics, Radiology and Tropical medicine. * Ismailia : All pre-clinical departments during study months are available. All clinical departments except for tropical medicine and Psychiatry are available * Mansoura : All clinical & Pre clinical fields are available but we do recommend these departments "Pediatrics,Neonatology,Ophthalmology,Internal medicine,Gastroenterology, Urology ,Microbilogy & nephrology" * Menoufiya : All Clinical students are accepted, Pre-clinical in Pathology only. * Tanta : All clinical departments. * Zagzig : All clinical and Pre-clinical departments. |
| Periods & Towns | WE CAN ACCEPT about 90% OF THE STUDENTS IN JULY AND AUGUST.
Egypt is divided into 3 groups (Alphabetical) the student Must choose only 1 LC from each group in his/her Application , no 2 LCs from same group can be chosen the groups are Group A Ain Shams Alexandria Al-Azhar Kasr Group B Assuit Benha Ismailia Mansoura Group C : Menofya Sohag Tanta Zagazig Please be aware that we cannot always put everybody in the 1st city of choice,Most of the students would usually like to go to Cairo and Alex,please be aware that only few of our places are there. If you put a different cities than Cairo and Alex,that gives you a higher chance to be placed at a city of your 1st choice. PLEASE CONSIDER : if you are coming in august you will have limited social program in last 10 days of august * Ain Shams (Cairo): All months of the year * Alex : ALL The Year Especially (June,July & August). * Assuit : All the year around except May and June. *Al-Azhar :all months of the year except RAMADAN whenever will be in the west calendar * Banha : June,July, and other months of the year but limited number * Cairo Uni.(ElKasr): July, August, November,February, March. * Ismailia : July & from mid july to mid aug ,Other months are available but with limited number,except January, june not available * Mansoura : All months of the year (espcially July and August.) * Menoufiya : January, February,June, July,and from 15 july to 15 August, . * Tanta : ALL Year especially July and August . * Zagzig : July & August only . |
| Application documents & deadline | · eAF with Motivation Letters included in it,without the MLs,sorry we can't accept this eAF.
. CV. · copy of the passport Deadline sending the papers is 8 weeks before the Clerkship IFMSA-EGYPT is recommending to have incoming students papers as scanned forms,with 2 CDs for each student, no need to hold all these hardcopies. |

| Social Program | LEO's are trained to arrange outstanding social programs.
also don`t miss our national weekends in july & august, social programe will be limited in august because of ramadan |
| Substitutions | · Must be of the same gender and accept the same city, period and department of the original applicant.
· Must be reported to the LEO at least 3 weeks before the beginning of the clerkship. |
| Cancellations | · If any, No compensation shall be presented by IFMSA-Egypt for any canceled units. |

| Special remarks | VERY IMPORTANT (1): Each LC has maximum hosting capacity,NO WAY to exceed this capacity, this means that you may be placed in LC other than what you wrote in your Application,BUT we will do our best to place you in one of your choices
(2) students wishing to come during the month (not calender month) should send request first to NEO-incoming era_of_s86@yahoo.com . We are sorry but friends, relatives and pets are not welcomed. . Please bring your white coat and stethoscope also a reflex hammer for neurology clerkships. . Please bring your international students ID (ISIC)it is of great benefit specially in social programs. · you may find different traditions and morals than your home country but you must respect them . NB: Unilateral Units have the same Exchange Condition as bilateral ones. The Student MUST pay the Fees of the unit upon arrival to the LEO of the Hosting LC (some LCs need the unilateral fees to be paid befor sending the invitation letter or the card of acceptance).
