Professional Exchange : Exchange Conditions of CroMSIC(Croatia)
Level of studies	clinical
Type of Clerkship	clinical
Languages	English, Croatian (or languages from the region)
Duration of Clerkship	4 weeks, All exchanges last from the 1st until the 31st of the month.
Working Conditions	Monday to Friday. 6 hours per day. All students must be present in hospital at least 80% of total practice to obtain the SCOPE Certificate.
Disciplines	All clinical fields except psychiatry. Clerkships are given at the University hospitals or Faculty of medicine for the preclinical clerkships. We do not offer the fields from alternative medicine! NOTE:preclinical students cannot attend clinical clerkship.
Periods & Towns	Rijeka - whole year (July, August, September preferred) Zagreb - whole year except August Osijek - whole year (July, August, September preferred) Split - July and August only
Application documents & deadline	We accept documents only in digital form!!! 1.e-AF sent before the MM 2.Photo 3.Language certificate 4.Health Insurance 5.Copy of passport (first and the last page) 6.Official certificate from the medical school showing that the student is a medical student coming for a one month practice without payment 6.Additional for LC Split : HBV vac., MRSA neg for pediatrics 7.Additional for LC Osijek: CV - (curriculum vitae), HBV vac., Letter of Recommendation written and signed by Dean of student's faculty All documents should be in PDF (portable document format) and on one CD, given to NEO on MM (March Meeting) or sent by e-mail. AF deadline: MM (March Meeting) or 3 months before the beginning of the clerkship CA deadline: 6 weeks before the beginning of the clerkship CC deadline: At least 3 weeks before the beginning of the clerkship (otherwise we cannot guarantee you the clerkship)

Insurance	Health insurance is required and must be arranged by the student. It is to be shown upon arrival. We will not accept any students without insurance. The exchange will be canceled!
Pocket Money	none
Board & Lodging	1)Boarding is Free on bilateral exchange. Students are placed in students' dormitories or in students' flats in Split.( We recommend to students to bring their own towels). 2)Minimum of 2 meals/day in the hospital restaurant (1meal/day in Split). 3)Please note we can NOT provide accommodation for any friends/partners/relatives. 4)Unilateral incomings have to pay 300 Euros upon arrival.
Social Program	Organized by Local Committees in all cities. The best during summer months. You'll be informed in advanced about Social Program form your LEO in Croatia.
Substitutions	Must be reported at least 3 weeks earlier! All info and application documents must be sent by e-mail. Substitute must be from the SAME SEX and choose SAME PERIOD, CITY and DEPARTMENT.
Cancellations	We prefer substitutions to cancellations, but if there are any cancellations the information should be sent to the LEO and also to the NEO as soon as possible.
Visas	Every student is responsible for getting his/her own visa!!! Please check visa requirements on the Ministry of foreign affairs website http://www.mfa.hr/MVP.asp?pcpid=1615. In case you need visa, you will need ORIGINAL, and OFFICIAL invitation letter, not the electronic one you can obtain trough this website. -Please, if you need it, ask for it our NEO AS SOON AS POSSIBLE! and he/she will send it to you or directly to embassy.
Special remarks	1)White coat and stethoscope. 2)It's obligatory to bring an official certificate which confirms that you are a medical student. 3)The students must come in Croatia from 1st until 8th of the month. Exception is January when students must come from 3rd until 8th of the month. We will not accept anyone who comes later! 4)Unilateral incomings have to pay 300 Euros upon arrival.
