Professional Exchange : Exchange Conditions of IFMSA-Mexico(Mexico)
Level of studies	Clinical
Type of Clerkship	Clinical
Languages	Spanish or English is obligatory.
Duration of Clerkship	4 weeks (1 month) not 3 weeks!!
Working Conditions	The exchange attends daily clinical work where he/she will be guided by a doctor. Exchange students work under the same conditions as Mexican students and must follow all regulations at the hospital. Sometimes the student will have to do night shifts depending the rotation. We expect the exchange students to take his clerkship SERIOUS and behave accordingly. The incomings should attend the full period of the clerkship (4 weeks) in order to receive the certificate. No exceptions will be made. This is a clerkship, not a cheap travel agency!

Periods & Towns	Aviable Cities: CHIHUAHUA: All year. CULIACAN: All year. DURANGO: June to September. GUADALAJARA: All year. MEXICO CITY: All year except December and January. MONTERREY: All year (Calendar Months Only). MORELIA: All year. PUEBLA: June, July, August, September. SALTILLO: All year. TEPIC: All year. TOLUCA: All year. TORREON: All year. XALAPA: All year. VERACRUZ PTO. All year. ZACATECAS . All year. For special requests please contact the NEO. CALENDAR MONTHS, from the 1st to the END of the month. We can not accept or host students before the begining or the ending of the clerkship (dates specified on the C.A) IN CASE the student WANTS TO ARRIVE BEFORE or STAY AFTER, he has to look BY HIMSELF, for a place to stay. PLEASE HELP US TO HAVE A WELL ORGANIZED EXCHANGE PROGRAM!...
Application documents & deadline	THIS IS THE ONLY PAPER DOCUMENT: 1. 2 Photographs (passport size) Application: 4 Months before starting the Clerkship. For those who want to come during SUMMER time, the documents must be delivered during the March Meeting.
Digital documents required	ALL DIGITAL DOCUMENTS PLEASE INSIDE AN IDENTIFIED CD OR BY E-MAIL: 1. Official AF 2. Copy of Passport 3. Motivation letter (electronic) 4. Copy of the insurance. 5. Proof of enrollment of medical school.

Insurance	Health Insurance is absolutely compulsory. The proof of insurance must be shown upon arrival, and must state what the insurance will cover (illness, accidents, home transport, up to which amount, etc.)
Pocket Money	None.
Board & Lodging	*BILATERAL: Free *UNILATERAL: $300 EUROS. (Ask the NEO for aviable LC and month) UNILATERAL FEE MUST BE PAID IN CASH AND IN EUROS. *MEALS are provided by IFMSA-Mexico *LODGING depends on the city (student housing,apartments and hostal)..
Social Program	Available. Offered by local committees. We recommend the one during summer time!!! Although there is no official social program during the other months, students who come during these months will easily make friends with Mexican students who will organize a social program for them.
Substitutions	If possible we prefer same period, department, and gender as originally confirmed. IMPORTANT, if we have not received the AF of the substitute within 10 days after cancellation, the place will be considered lost. All changes must be reported to the NEO.
Cancellations	We Prefer substitutions rather than cancellations, if it is not possible, the Cancellation Letter must be sent to the Exchange Officer.
Visas	READ CAREFULLY!! WE DO NOT ISSUE VISAS or diferent oficial embassy documents, please if you need a visa ask for it as a turist (will be easier for you to get it ;-D) we are not responsable for students who dont get a VISA. You have to request to your NEO the Invitation Letter in advance. As soon as the student gets the visa he has only 3 months of permission to be in our country and after this period he needs an extension.
Special remarks	GENERAL -You have to complete the schedule, Monday to Friday. -Incomings have to bring their own stethoscope, white coat, scrubs (the color doesn't matter) or white clothes. -Relatives, boy/girlfriend, pets, etc. are NOT allowed. -The cost of transportation in the city is not included by the LC (hostel-hospital-hostel). -IFMSA-Mexico reserves the right to CANCEL any Clerkship if we receive any complaints of misconduct or unethical practice both in the Hospital as well as in the lodgings and with the LEO's and the NEO. -The incomings must attend full period of the clerkship (4 weeks) in order to receive the certificate, which will be given at the end of the period and NOT before. ....If you can not fulfill the requests please do not apply. CHIHUAHUA: -Lodging at student house. Boarding 2 per day. -Proof of enrollment is compulsory. CULIACAN: -Lodging at student house. Boarding 3 per day. GUADALAJARA: -Lodging at student house. Boarding 2 per day at hospital. -We do not pick you up at the airport or the bus station. -Gastroenterology is not available. -Obstetrics and Emergency Room MUST speak Spanish fluenty. MONTERREY: -Lodging at student residence. Boarding 3 per day at hospital. -The students have to wear formal clothes or scrubs -We do not pick you up at the airport or the bus station. -No piercings, shorts, sandals, tatoos. -Oftalmology and Neurology are not available. -Calendar Months Only. MORELIA: -Lodging at student residence. PUEBLA: -Lodging at student house. Boarding 1 per day at house. -Available only basic departments.(General Surgery, Paediatrics, etc...) SALTILLO: -Lodging at student residence. Boarding 2 per day at hospital. -Gynecology night watch obligatory. TOLUCA: -Lodging at student house. Boarding 2 per day at house
