80% assistance is compulsory to get the certificate. Please fill in the application form more than one choice because placement in the desired field is not always possible. The student should have studied the subject that she/he is asking for, to help us ensure his/her acceptance at the hospital. For the Emergency department the student must speak and understand quite good Catalan/Spanish. |
| Periods & Towns | Please apply for CALENDAR MONTHS only (from 1st to the 31st of the month).
WE CANNOT PROVIDE LODGING OUTSIDE THE EXCHANGE PERIOD. Any changes to the number of units per month stated in the contract should be first asked to the NEO. BARCELONA: available all year long. REUS/TARRAGONA: available only July, August and September. LLEIDA: available only July and August. GIRONA: availabel only July and August |
| Application documents & deadline | APPLICATION DOCUMENTS:
•AF •1 passport sized photos •Motivation letter •Vaccination documents •Letter of recommendation from a teacher at your medical faculty •Insurance certificate. Hard copy MUST be given to Local officer upon arrival. DEADLINES AFs: March Meeting(for students coming in summer months) or at least three months in advance (for students coming from October to June). |

| Insurance | It is a MUST to have health insurance for the exchange period. AECS cannot provide it. We do not bear any responsibility for students who have no medical coverage. A proof of Hepatitis B, Tetanus and Rubella vaccination is needed in all the cities, as well as the insurance certificate. |
| Pocket Money | The students get no pocket money unless they need it to pay for the food at the hospital. |
| Board & Lodging | Depending on the local committee:
BARCELONA Students are lodged in student flats in Barcelona or a student's hostel (July, August and September). It usually takes between 30-40 minutes by underground to get to the hospitals. A free meal per day (working days) is provided by the hospital or by the LEO. REUS/TARRAGONA. Students flats. One free meal every working day is provided in the hospital. LLEIDA. Student flat. | Social Program | BARCELONA: From this year Social Program available all year long!

| Substitutions | 4 WEEKS BEFORE the beginning of the clerkship. If the time is over whenever the first student cancels the clerkship...the contract will be considered as "used", since we have to arrange everything for the student at least a month before his/her arrival. |
| Cancellations | 4 WEEKS BEFORE the beginning of the clerkship. |
| Visas | All countries who need VISA should tell us as soon as possible.
We also need to know the necessary documents and the phone, fax and address where we have to send them. Tell us if the student needs IL or other additional documents 3 MONTHS IN ADVANCE, since embassies are SLOW... |
| Special remarks | •AECS will be requiring Academic Quality logbook to ALL incooming students and need to be fully filled to obtain exchange certificate!
•Please ask if you'd like to be placed together with another person. •White coat, stethoscope, bed sheets and bath towels required!!! •Whenever it is necessary for the student to pay a diposit for the room it will be given back to the student when the key is returned and the office checks that the flat suffered no damage. •SPECIAL REMARK ON UNILATERAL INCOMINGS: The price for unilateral incomings is 350 EURO, which should be transfered to AECS bank account before the CA is received. The NEO of AECS will get in contact with the NEO and the student directly, in order to give reliance to the process. The invoice of the transfer should be returned together with the CC. Any taxes concerning the bank transfer will have to be paid by the student or the sending NMO. VIOLATION OF THIS RULES WILL IMMEDIATELY LEAD TO THE CANCELLATION OF THE CLERKSHIP. |
