Periods & Towns KUMASI: Exchanges generally through out the year. Prefered months include September-March, July,August also available.

Peak period in Summer so spaces may be limited.


ACCRA: All year round
but there is no school from 2 days before christmas till a few days after New Years, there is also no school for 1 week for end of rotation exams.

Junior clerkship refers to a rotation where emphasis is placed on history taking and physical examination,senior clerkship includes all that with management(investigations and treatment)
Application documents & deadline -2 copies of AF,with e-mail address and applicants signature
-2 passport size photographs
-motivation letter
Language certificate
-recommendation letter
These documents should be available at march meeting or 3 months before start of clerkship, which ever comes first.(please email the necessary documents + passport picture)

Unilateral exchange fee of 300 EUROS which should be paid on arrival to the Treasurer and a receipt collected.

Bilateral exchanges are free.

Insurance Health insurance is mandatory
Pocket Money Pocket money will not be provided
Board & Lodging Free lodging is arranged by local committees.
Lunch is provided daily from monday to friday by local committees. Unilateral fee is 300 Euros,
Social Program Arranged by local committees, ranges from nights out to nights in, from salsa to reggae to movies. International games/cooking parties/welcome parties are also organised.
Weekend trips and joint LC trips are usually organised based on the period
Substitutions Same city and department.Must inform NEO 6weeks prior to clerkship.
Due to university regulations, there is no guarantee substitution will be taken if done less than 6 weeks earlier.
Cancellations Inform NEO as soon as possible
Substitutions are prefered to cancellations.
Visas Every one needs a visa.(except ECOWAS nationals)
If there is no embassy/consulate in your home country you can go to a neighbouring country or call the embassy in the country through which you will be transiting and make arrangements to pick up the visa from there.
Special remarks 1.Dress code is FORMAL.shirts with ties for guys and shirts with skirts or trousers for girls. No jeans.
2.Bring a patella hammer, light source, stethoscope, and white lab coat.
3.Make sure you email the NEO and LEO of your city to confirm your arrival and to get more information.
