| Professional Exchange : Exchange Conditions of KuMSA(Kuwait) | |
| Level of studies | Clinical |
| Type of Clerkship | Clinical, all specialities are avialable. However, time restrictions may apply.
Students must be experienced in their chosen departments. |
| Languages | English is the teaching language. Arabic is also spoken. |
| Duration of Clerkship | four weeks, multiples can be arranged under special conditions |
| Working Conditions | Sunday to Thursday from 7:30am to 1:30pm (may be more in certain fields). |
| Disciplines | All clinical fields are available except for psychiatry.
Since this is a religious and conservative country, we would be grateful if you dressed appropriately. |
| Periods & Towns | We accept students through out the year except June & August due to exams & annual renovations. Limited seats are available for July & September. (the national & liberation day of Kuwait is in February).
The Mubarak Al-Kabeer is the largest General Hospital in Kuwait, and it is the official teaching hospital of the Medical Faculty. But, for a minority of specialties or in certain conditions students can do their clerkship at other hospitals as well. Chest Hospital and Ibn Sina Hospital has also been welcoming students. We send our students in the summer. Note that the week in Kuwait is from Sunday to Thursday. |
| Application documents & deadline | We accept students in the clinical years. The deadline for application is three months prior to the clerkship. The following documents are required for the application
1.A letter from the students college certifying their year of study.(very important) 2.Letter of recommendation from the dean of your faculty or delegate 3.Two personal photos. 4.A certificate of English language. 5.Two copies of IFMSA's original application form. 6.Health insurance is not required 7.A brief CV of the student and motivation statement |

| Insurance | Not a must, student will be responsible for his/her own health fees (Kuwait has an affluence public health system and also a private sector, expenses are minimal). Students will be welcomed to purchase worldwide travel insurance from their country of origin. |
| Pocket Money | No pocket money will be given, this may be subject to change. |
| Board & Lodging | Will be provided free of charge at the student dormitory. Males will be hosted at the Shuwaikh campus, females in Kaifan campus. |
| Social Program | Very active and interesting, students will have fun as well as learn about the local culture of Kuwait. |
| Substitutions | Not acceptable, cancellation followed by new application only |
| Cancellations | the student will be automatically canceled if the NEO doesn't hear anything from him or her two weeks prior to the clerkship. |
| Visas | Check your local Kuwaiti embassy. |
| Special remarks | Incoming unilaterals should pay a fees of KD 100.
Transportation will be provided to and from the hospital only. You can find more about our school at the URL below. Students applying must bring their own white coat and stethoscope for use at the hospital during their rotations. |
